You already want to pitch the partnership idea? Still too early! Your next step — move relationship to the next level, make them more personal. Write a DM offering a 30 min call.

Templates for a call request

Template 1: Hi [First Name], I’ve been following you for a while and would love to talk on-on-one about things that you’re doing and how we can be helpful to each other. It will take only 30 min of your time. Here’s a link to my scheduler [Calendly/ Savvycal link]. Please book the time that works for you. Let me if you see nothing suitable — I can be more flexible with my schedule.

Template 2:
Hi [First Name], I’ve been following you for a while and read your recent post on [recent post topic]. I actually have a lot of data to support your opinion. I believe you’re absolutely right raising this conversation. Would love to talk on-on-one about it. It will take only 30 min of your time. Here’s a link to my scheduler [Calendly/ Savvycal link]. Please book the time that works for you. Let me if you see nothing suitable — I can be more flexible with my schedule.

Template 3.
Hi [First Name], I’ve been following your journey for a while and a believe I’m on the same stage of my startup journey as you are. I’m stuck with the same problems. I would love to talk on-on-one about it — I have a good feeling that we might help each other with solving this one. It will take only 30 min of your time. Here’s a link to my scheduler [Calendly/ Savvycal link]. Please book the time that works for you. Let me if you see nothing suitable — I can be more flexible with my schedule.

DO NOTs of the call offer outreach:

🚫 Do not say “jump on a call” — this phrase only annoys people
🚫 Do not structure your phrase in a way that presumes that another person is more interested in this conversation than you are. eg “If you’d like I will send you a link..
🚫 Do not pitch your offer (partnership or otherwise) on the first iteration
🚫 Do not use long dim intros like “To tell you the truth, there are so many things we can discuss and there are so many people w have in common. Take for instance, Jane — she is our common denominator, and we are both her friends...
🚫 Do not use generalities like “hello, Sir”, “Hope you’ve been doing well”, “How are you today, Madame”, etc. Use only first name and a simple “Hi”
